It Started With a Simple Frustration
In 2014, Dr. Ellen Hartley was tired of watching good medicine get rushed. Patients deserved more than seven minutes and a prescription. So she opened a small practice with a simple rule: every consultation runs to time, and every patient is genuinely heard.
Ten years on, that rule has not changed. We have grown to eighteen specialists across six departments, but the founding principle remains the quiet centre of everything we do.

Halcyon begins as a single-room general practice on MG Road with six chairs and one second-hand ECG machine.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
General medicine welcomes walk-ins during clinic hours. For all specialist departments — cardiology, dermatology, orthopaedics, and paediatrics — we recommend booking ahead so your consultant can give you their full time.
How long does a typical consultation take?
A general consultation runs 20 to 30 minutes. First visits and specialist appointments may take longer, because we would rather be thorough than quick. We deliberately schedule fewer patients per hour than most clinics.
Will I get my test results the same day?
Most blood panels, X-rays, and ECGs are reported the same day, often within a few hours. More specialised tests may take longer, and we will always tell you exactly when to expect your results.
Can I request a specific doctor?
Absolutely. Just mention your preferred consultant when you book and we will arrange your appointment with them, subject to their availability. Many of our patients see the same doctor for years.
Do you offer cashless insurance?
Yes. We work with most leading insurers for cashless treatment. Bring your insurance details to your visit and our front desk will handle the paperwork and pre-authorisation for you.
